Description
One massive trade and a couple little ones. Hard not to like that second D pair...
Transactions
1.
DET
  1. Buchnevich, Pavel
  2. Parayko, Colton
Détails additionnels:
StL gets 2 years of bad contract, wings get 6 (!) for a better, bigger player that will definitely suck in the back end of the contract. I call Holl+6th=Paryko. Buch gets burgers, good D prospect, 1st and 2nd and that's enough damn it.
STL
  1. Berggren, Jonatan
  2. Holl, Justin
  3. Johansson, Albert
  4. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (DET)
  5. Choix de 6e ronde en 2024 (DET)
  6. Choix de 1e ronde en 2025 (DET)
2.
DET
  1. Kähkönen, Kaapo
Détails additionnels:
I've done this trade a couple of times and I like it.
SJS
  1. Reimer, James
  2. Choix de 7e ronde en 2025 (DET)
3.
DET
  1. Choix de 3e ronde en 2024 (CAR)
Détails additionnels:
Conditional 4th to 3rd if he plays x number of games. Any contender needing depth scoring/PP2 help.
CAR
  1. Fabbri, Robby (2 000 000 $ retained)
4.
DET
  1. Choix de 3e ronde en 2025 (TBL)

I wouldn't do this as the Blues. It treats Parayko like a cap dump which he isnt...

This "offer" does not get you Buch by himself. "Holl + 6th for Parayko" is astonishingly deluded. The Blues would not take Holl for a 6th, so you somehow imagine you can get paid handsomely to take Parayko. Why do people trade for players they never watch?

I think he's a good player, but that's a really long contract for a big guy at $6.5M per. I sort of look at Holl as a not as good replacement for $3M LESS per season for 4 years less, or they retain and flip him. Plus they got the 6th. What do you think makes it more fair? Make the 6th a 4th or 5th?

We can't afford Buchnevich and Parayko next season. Also that contract probably doesn't age well for us, I would say he is already less effective than when he signed it. I also don't see the Blues being interested in that return much.

See my reply to BD Hockey. If you think paying a 35/36 year old big dude $6.5M is good value/cap management then I'm afraid you're deluded. (see the ghost of Jeff Petry) That said, I'm trying make a win/win for the best bud GMs. And the Buch carve-out is more than fair, he's really good but sheesh.

Yeah I understand the concern. I think his playstyle will last fine throughout his contract and the total cap hit % won't be that bad on the back half of the contract. The biggest concern with having veterans signed long term is the risk of injury, which is what it is.

I don't really share the same concern about Parayko, but I am glad that so many other teams are looking out for us and taking the contract off our hands. tears of joy

What on Earth are you on about? Holl is nothing even slightly resembling a replacement. And he gets paid about 3M more than he is worth. "Plus they got the 6th"... do you even hear yourself? Parayko is worth PURE cap dump Holl and a 6th... how is it even possible to be this divorced from reality? I'm genuinely fascinated.

I guess we can't all possess your sage wisdom. You seriously need to chill tf out, you do understand this is an internet forum, not an actual trade? People like you suck the fun out of this whole thing.

Oh stop it. I'm chill as can be. You guys say weird stuff and any time anyone dryly criticizes the specific things you said about the hockey players (not you), it automatically goes to "Bro chill tf out... you're baaaaad, you ruin everything in my fantasy world".

Sorry, you guys can't just leap to pretending everyone who criticizes the overtly bizarre thing you said is a maniac foaming at the mouth as a shield from said criticism. Do you have anything to rebut regarding all the relevant hockey player stuff I said? Anything at all?

(sigh)

Dude. You and I both know the difference between value and the right value. This is all second hand stuff (or far worse) relative to what they have to offer.

Deferred 1st. Their 5th best D prospect. Small winger they have been apparently taking bids on. Awful cap dump. Uhh sorry. NO. They can do a helluva lot better.
