DO NOT INVEST - Not a cup roster

Créé par: mcordaro
Équipe: 2023-24 Bruins de Boston
Date de création initiale: 4 mars 2024
Publié: 4 mars 2024
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
This is not a cup team. Grizz, Ullmark, forbort, debrusk should all be moved before the deadline. They should not give up any assets for Hanafin, just sign him in the offseason. If LA moves Kempe to LTIR they have the room to get Ullmark.

You are undervaluing here especially for trade deadline

Ullmark and Debrusk get you 1st
Gryz gets you a 2nd

Selling off on a team that's 2nd in the Atlantic isn't something that's going to happen.

I can understand just not doing anything at the deadline, but selling is not ever going to happen.

If you think JDB walks in UFA, then yeah, get some useful pieces for him or package him for an upgrade..

Grzelcyk isn't getting a 2nd. He hasn't played like a top4 D or up to his cap hit and has been injured few times. From a seller's standpoint, there's no reason to add him and buyers don't have much cap space and teams have different opinions about his value in the playoffs. Finally, they're aware BOS need cap space so in the best-case scenario, you get a late 4th for him half retained. Would sure like to be wrong though.

I know the Kings aren't giving up much in the Ullmark trade, but geez the two Kings goalies have been outstanding this year. Kings need more scoring if anything, Plus the Kings think they have another goalie next season Portelli playing in the AHL

Try to follow the logic of so many Leaf fans. Bruins fans seem so rational in comparison.

Philly and Edm are not the teams for Forbort and Grizz.

If you are not getting a 1st for Ullmark there is no point in trading him.

Preds are not likely buyers. They’d want picks not giving them up.

A pile of waiver trash is not getting Bjugs.

The is solid and complete team. I certainly think they’ve justified keeping the team together.

I do wonder if going all in and trading the 2025 or 2026 first makes sense right now. I’m OK with buying some secondary assets to bring in some help and trading a player like Ullmark for an improvement at another position.

I looked back at Don’s trade deadline deals

- Lindholm deal was a good one (though Anaheim has gotten some real prospects with the picks to date). He’s extremely important to this team

- the Nash deal was unfortunate, but I don’t criticize him for the flyer. Without the concussion, I think Nash is a great player for years to come. Lingdren is the perfect type of defenseman I’d love with McAvoy

- the Kase deal was a cap dump trying to remove the Backes mistake

Nash also included dumping Beleskey and Spooner. It wasn’t about Nash as much as that in the same way Kase/Backes was not really about Kase.

i don't know, i feel like in general leafs fans hockey knowledge is leaps and bounds over that of bruins fans. 10% of bruins fans are awesome, top of the league in terms of knowing the game and league - the other 90% are just ridiculous reactionary types regurgitating crap they hear professional trolls spewing on sports talk radio. Leafs fans have a reason to be crazy. The Matthews era has to be absolute torturous. Sure, the Bruins probably should have another cup or two in the Bergeron era, but they got the ring, had a ton of success, and it's been a fun ride. Now they lose a few games in OT and half the fan base is screaming sell.

Leafs were on seven game winning streak....including western road games.....First game home they lose to Vegas (they had beat Vegas earlier in the week in Vegas) and so many in Leaf nation say...."We need a RHD". Liljegren was not playing that game (illness) and the Luby trade hadn't been made yet.
I admit the Leafs defence is wobbly, partly due to injuries. But I really can't see how one additional Dman is going to affect the Leafs fortunes this season. Leafs have used five Marlies this season, so maybe the depth isn't bad, though the high level competency is lacking.
Looking forward to the two Bruins games this week, and looks like a Leafs/Bruins series in the first round.

If you don't fault sweeney for the Nash deal, what would you ever criticize him for. That deal was so obviously bad when it was made.

You make a trade and the guys career is over 23 games later. That’s all. Its tough to judge when the player didn’t really have any opportunity to prove he was worth the hefty price,

You are right, he overpaid for a 34 year old.

The pick thankfully became nothing (Docker) and Lindgren at the time was probably similar to what a Brett Harrison would be looked at today.

what the pick became means absolutely nothing. the value of the pick is capital at the time of the trade, maybe the bruins draft romanov at that spot. who knows. Nash had been around a half point per game for multiple years at the time of the trade. it was bad. it was really bad, and it was apparent at the time it was a horrible trade.
