Sens have mismanged their cap in past few years. Non playoff teams shouldn't be at the cap. Then the two poor (IMO) of DeBrincat and Chychrun....giving up good picks for a non playoff team still.

From a distance - & completely non objectively - the so-called core were / are just not that good; no superstar talent. So I agree 100%, Dorion jumped on deBrincat & Chycrun too early in the process. He should have kept the picks and recognized competitive window was still 2-3 years away but fan pressure after years of losing, lack of organizational stability, etc. led to bad decisions and there is no easy way out now 🤷🏻

At this point in time I 100% agree with the idea that your team should be built around Timmy Stu and Sanderson. Pinto and Grieg are solid building blocks. I would say that you should think about keeping Batherson as he is young enough to age well with this team and provide solid offensive numbers. You really need to make a move to find your franchise goaltender or at least figure out how to help Soogard fill the role.

I agree. Tkachuk and Batherson have 3-4 years left on their deals so our window are not their contracts. Our window should be the Stutzle and Sanderson contracts and find other players to build around them

I would still keep Batherson even then. It will be hard to replace almost your entire team with highend talent that will be NHL ready if you trade them all. Best bet in my eyes is trade Chychrun, Brady, Vlad and Norris and then build back from there. Maybe Chabot in the offseason if the package is right

Most of us have been saying this for years.
Sen fans were guaranteeing high scoring & playoffs with fierce validity of stat charts.
Need heavy glue, character & leadership.
Like BUF, locking up a bunch of kids & hoping just sets you back.
Also almost impossible to be a Good GM in small markets
