Easy no from the Ducks. Gustafsson and Kupari will at best be bottom 6 forwards, and a 3rd doesn't add much. So it's basically Lambert and scraps for Zegras, and Lambert isn't enough of a sure thing to justify him being the main part of the return

In Gabe Vilardi's two best seasons (the last two), he's scored 61 points in 93 games -- basically, 2/3 of a point per game.
Trevor Zegras has averaged 0.73 PPG over his career despite the fact that he was hobbled by injuries this season. And over his first 99 games (not his last), he recorded 74 points.

You think that Zegras should be your #2C. Gustafsson and Kupari are third-liners. Lambert is a very good prospect but doesn't come close to Zegras' upside. And then you add a pick in the 81 - 96 range.

This isn't close for the Ducks and I don't think Zegras would be a good fit for the Jets, good player but don't see a fit.

Jets don't need Zegras. Also I wouldn't want Zegras. Especially for what the Ducks would be looking for as a package for him. Zegras is a flashy goal scorer but he should be playing wing and have a good play making centre with him.

Both teams hate this trade. Zegras does not fit the type of game the Jets want to play/vibes are atrocious around him, and Brad Lambert could legitimately be the next Mark Scheifele, so the Jets will not be parting ways with him via trade unless we're bringing back like Sidney Crosby or something. From the Ducks perspective, while Lambert is good, you would basically be hoping that he turns into the player that Zegras is *right now*, which is no sure thing. Both sides decline.
