I truly do try and find a positive or at the very least try to understand what people are thinking when making deals but I’m beyond lost on this one. Overpay is an understatement. I’d recommend deleting this attempt and trying again.

Maybe include Derek Ryan, the NHL’s only LDS player, if it looks like SLC is happening.

The two 1sts alone, at least, are simply to dump Campbell. If we give you the benefit of the doubt there that means Bourgault and Broberg are the value for Crouse, and neither of them have much value at this point. They're not anything Arizona doesn't have already, and certainly not something they can't live with out, especially at the expense of Crouse.

Crouse is also overpaid so why does he carry enough value to land two quality young players but Campbell costs 2 firsts? I personally wouldn’t want anything to do with adding Crouse he isn’t anything the oilers don’t already have a bunch of just more expensive.

Crouse isn't overpaid, and even if he is it would be by a couple hundred thousand, Jack Campbell is an AHL goalie making 5M, it's laughable to compare the two
And again, Broberg and Bourgault aren't "quality young players", they're guys who would be lucky to land regular roles in the top six/top four, especially on good teams

This is an issue of you overrating your own assets and trying to underrate/undermine other, actual quality assets

32 goal pace after 24 last season. Skates, big, uses the body, PKs, PP, doesn't take shifts off. Worth every penny and more.

Crouse being overpaid is certainly a ...take. Overrated because of his size? Maybe. But if he's UFA right now then he would definitely get more term and AAV than he has now. He's more underpaid than overpaid.

good points - he would be 4th in G and 5th in pts on EDN - is younger, cheaper and way more physical than than any of those guys. yep EDM shouldnt touch him

Campbell doesn't take 2 firsts....if he does, we will just buy him our and ride. That is an insane amount for him, plain and simple, we are disagreeing on something the will NEVER happen.

Idk think over hyping crouse. In Edmonton I can’t see him getting top six minutes and Edmonton can’t afford that term landing in the bottom six. Oiler fans wanted to run foegele out of town last year because he made 2.750 with one year remaining. This would ultimately replace foegele in oilers depth chart moving forward but much more expensive and much longer term. I would agree he is worth every dime in Arizona but the role he would end up on in Edmonton is different and will very quickly change look of the contract.
