He's been a bust based on draft position for a while.
However, I still expect him to be a quality 4th liner/pest in the NHL.
Is that worth more than Slaggert, I have no idea.
Tell me about him?
Well, I was strictly talking about the point of view of CHI's front office. THEY are very high on him. For me, I haven't watched a Notre Dame game in at least a month. So, I'll have to maybe watch a game or two of his tomorrow to refresh my memory fully. But, from what I remember, he is an average sized, strong, two-way center, plays hard and fast all over the ice, probably more of a bottom 6 utility guy, but has some power forward qualities that could take him to the top of the lineup if enough of his offense translates to the NHL. Which is something that CHI's assistant GM Mark Eaton seems to think is very possible, that he could be a top of the lineup player in the NHL. Plus, he is having an awesome senior year.
Honestly, though, I was kinda turned off by him when he did a quick interview with some Blackhawks media dudes where he credited "the power of prayer" for his success this year. It's knee jerk and judging a book by its cover, I know, but crap like that is a red flag to me. Either way, I am not interested in Stillman anymore, at all. So, even if I think Slaggert seems kinda douchey, he still has a lot more skill that I would like to explore rather than moving him for a bust/reclamation project. Also, not all religious people are inherently crappy, just a lot of them are. Some religious nut goody goody coming in and proselytizing everyone just seems like a bad element to add to a rebuild.
