Looks good to me.
I don't know why Chicago wouldn't make that trade.
Kuzmenko is as good as, if not better than, every Chicago forward, with exception of Bedard.
What business does CHI have trading a guy who will be in his thirties by the time CHI is relevant again and has no long term place in this rebuild? The best we can expect for him at next years deadline is probably a 2nd anyway. That does nothing for CHI. There has to be an opportunity for CHI to profit or else there is zero point in trading for him.
Also, It is way too soon for CHI to even be thinking about the playoffs, let alone making short term improvements that also potentially diminish our opportunity to draft high end players. We don't need "someone to play with Bedard" either. We have plenty of guys to play with Bedard. That 2nd round pick could even potentially be someone who plays with Bedard down the road. Also, we could potentially promote from within or go into free agency without spending any picks, if they really want to snag a skilled guy to play with him.
So, unless VAN is desperate for cap space and willing to sell very low or pay to move him, I doubt CHI will have any interest. Which, with the way he has been playing and considering his cap hit, I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't many teams interested in paying for him.
