Savard retained would mean a 1st rounder. Don't think anything on top of that but to get that extra year of retention Habs definitely ask for a premium

Habs dont have many other options on the right side, they arent wasting their last retention slot on savard for less value then he may fetch elsewhere with no retention. He is lower on the list of players mtl need to move by the deadline and they will hold out for sure, or just flip him at the deadline next year with no retention and a similar return.

As the retention is probably worth at bare minimum a 3rd, more than Myers (who has no value to Montreal).

I don't even like Savard's on-ice play all that much, but he's got more value off ice and as a sacrificial lamb to Montreal than an AHL D-man.

I'd say he is worth at least a 2nd, but with retention you're looking at a 1st round pick. If I was you I'd be targeting Kovacevic instead, $766,667 cap hit for this year and the next and he's a better player than Savard, underappreciated you will see fans giving him away for 3rd round picks. I'd want a 1st from TB for him, so if you could get him for a 2nd that would be a steal.

I think habs should add a 1st and possibly even reinbacher and slafkovsky to make it a bit more fair for the bolts

To the Habs, he is worth a whole lot more than anyone would offer. People don't realize how solid he has been this season. Easily a 1st + prospect, otherwise hold on to him and reexplore next trade deadline. .
