I liked Copp and had no problem with Copp during his time on NYR. I think he was well liked by most fans actually. Simply put the Rangers would never do this just like they'd never bring in Wilson or Martinez. Another example would be Giroux to the Penguins. Just way too much bad blood. Tampa should definitely consider taking that. Lyibushkin is a great target for them to help their blueline. They'd have to make a small additional move to make the cap work, but imo getting Lyubushkin would be worth it.

I get that to some extent for examples you made with either very irksome players (Wilson), or the face of a rival franchise (Giroux). But you seriously think Adam Henrique is comparable?

Not only was Henrique neither of those things, but New Jersey was pretty bad for almost all of his tenure there. They had one meeting in playoffs back in 2012 where he had a few points in the series and the OT winner in game 6 and I don’t think they even made the playoffs after that.
