Of course they wouldn't. Montreal doesn't want to dump Armia. They don't need the cap space. Using the retention slot in the trade is by far the worst part of the trade. Having Armia on the roster, even ignoring the fact he's been better this season than in the past couple of seasons, is vastly better than retaining to move him.
