Boqvist is probably worth a 2nd or 3rd, particularly since it’s known CBJ are trying to move him. I would not give up assets to take on Guds, even with retention.

Its hard to put together an offer when I really don’t think Guds is an asset you would want to take on, even if he is a great locker-room guy who is having a bit of a bounce-back season.

I would not put Provorov and Merrill on the same team, for one. Take him and at least one second out of the deal. The depth winger is meaningless to the deal, too. The remaining third for Boqvist and the second to pay for that much retention is fine. In fact, I don't know that Columbus agrees to the retention or moving of Gudbranson at all.

If MN retained 50% I'd pay a 5th for the Big Rig. He'd be platooning with guys like Ryan, Gagner and Perry, none of whom are burners. I like having the depth and experience for the playoffs.

I like Big Rig too. But the Oilers are built to be fast with high work rate. At times our domination is directly related to just plain overwhelming teams with our speed. It’s part of our identity. I fear we lose some of our identity if both Perry who’s really slow and Maroon who’s slow is added. They both glide around a bit on the ice too, the work rate is not high… I think one or the other would be fine, but not both.
