Where's the value for the Leafs? Neither Edmundson or Van Riemsdyk are big ticket items and dumping Samsonov isn't a big ticket either. Could dump Samsonov for the 3rd. Edmundson was traded for a 3rd and a 7th and that included a full season of retention as part of it. Not like his value has increased since then. Van Riemsdyk is just a meh 3rd pairing guy. What exactly is worth a 1st + a young player you see playing in the top 6?

Can't imagine the General Managers around the NHL consider Kuznetsov a good center anymore. His numbers have tanked dramatically, worse than even Ovechkin. He's dead weight at this point, even if 50% retained. Might have to attach a pick to get rid of him at this point, and to a non competitor that will take on salary for picks.
