Every playoff contender (and probably non-contender) would absolutely destroy that offer for Frank. Even if it makes sense for ANA to trade him, your first point is moot because that’d be the worst of somewhere close to 31 offers.

As to your second point, you may not be well informed on ANA’s prospect pool. ANA’s LD includes Fowler, Mintyukov, Zellweger, Lacombe, Vaakanainen, and Hinds all playing pro hockey. Not only would Niem fall behind all of them and therefore be pretty worthless to ANA, but even calling him a prospect as a 25 year old is generous. He’s trending to be a lifer in the AHL.

Side note: Maybe you lean Drysdale vs Cutter, which I can understand (though don’t agree with). But calling that trade horrible for ANA at this time is nothing short of hubris

Campbell's buy out only costs $1,500,000 the last 3 years.
Two 1st and 2nd this year could and should return a top 4 RHD.
IMO that is good asset management.
