Kinda hard to evaliate what to do

Description
Parayko could make this into a fun top 4. I think Holloway needs to stay. Too much talent to give up on! And he gotta get the top 9 minutes aswell. Him and Lavoie paired up with Kane could be fun to see.

Otherwise the top 6 is the same as now. Brown could stay if he accepts league min. Doubt he would.

Mrazek has been good for Hawks. He should be a goalie to target. Here Mrazek gets a chance at winning a cup plus decent payment.

I think buying out Campbell makes the most sense. Paying two 1’sts is just way too expensive

Détails additionnels:
I don’t know exactly how expensive Parayko is. Yes he is good but he is also 30 years old on a big deal. But 2 young players who both have good talent combined with a 1st should work right? I don’t hate this for the Blues. You add depth on both D and the offense while also getting a 1st which never is a bad thing

They need a D-man and they get paid to take on Ceci. Don’t see the downside for them. Also this helps them reach cap floor if a bigger name like Hertl or Couture has been moved

Brown probably comes back on league min, would be a massive snake move to Mcdavid to just leave after sucking and being paid 4 million.

That deal is more than enough for Parayko but blues fans will complain you didn't offer 4 1sts for him since they think he's prime Bobby Orr for some reason.

I think the Ducks would probably move a 5th for Ceci (Just based on Ducks fan feedback when I did that).

WF probably leaves and gets 3 million + elsewhere frown

It makes 0 sense for the Blues to trade Parayko.

What are you offering back here?
1. a mid to late 1st
2. a project LD with a high draft pedigree - but troubling results early in his career.
3. a forward prospect who probably projects to be a middle 6er if everything shakes right.

We could stand to add a late 1st but don't need to.

Broberg is far from a valuable asset right now. He is a project. He has been mishandled by the Oilers front office and has had troubling results due to it.

Bourgault would probably be our 5th best forward prospect at the moment. Not an area of need especially when we have THomas and Kyrou locked up for 8 years.

What we would need to do if we traded Parayko is to fully redesign our defense that is littered with full NTCs that are being paid UFA money or close to it, and young guys who project as little more than bottom pairing players. That is an impossible task. So what it would do then afterwards is push us into a long-term rebuild versus what we're shooting for of a retool (Per our GM).

We aren't replacing Parayko for 6.5m a year any time soon, nor are we entering a full on rebuild any time soon. Thus why Parayko isn't available unless you offer a younger RD that can handle heavy minutes in a package.

Dude, Parayko is not good. Would the oilers take him even if the blues added a first? I highly doubt it. Long, expensive contract for a player with a similar impact to Brett kulak

Parayko is not available. If he was, that offer gets demolished by another team. It's not tempting.

Hahahaha what??? Just say you don't watch hockey. It's a lot faster. FYI, Parayko is arguably playing his best hockey this season. Brett Kulak... holy crap, dude. Is Kulak playing the hardest minutes in the league?

Is parayko? No. I’m not sure what blues fans see in him. I’ve seen probably 6/7 blues games, he never really stands out. Again he’s not a bad player, but the contract ruins him

dude, GMs don’t want him. There’s been no credible rumours on interest in him since the blues cup. The blues are also probably missing the playoffs, so selling him WOULD be preferable if it’s an option

Heh. Yes, he is. He played the hardest minutes of any Dman last season, and this season they have him playing even harder minutes. And seeing as how McDavid has his worst stats against the Blues by a sizable margin (only 18 pts in 21 gp, the only team to hold him under a PPG, with a -6), I'm not sure how you've missed Parayko standing out.

What are you on about now? There has been a constant stream of Parayko rumors since the Cup, up to and including this past summer/early season. They've been getting calls on him for years now. And missing the playoffs has zero to do with the concept of selling Parayko. It's not preferable at all.

I’ve seen a few games. The underlying numbers are all you need to know he’s not great. Blues fans seem to be the only ones that think he’s decent

Whether we're right or wrong, we've all seen what Parayko can accomplish in the right situation and we're convinced that the numbers are dragged down from playing the no.1 role on a below-average team with a well-below-average defense and an awful choice for a partner, the always professional but mostly terrible Mr. Nick Leddy. It's easy to say that he'd be better somewhere else or with some other partner, hard to prove it. Maybe the contract will age poorly but right now the guy seems to be capable of his former self.

And we know that trading him would put the remaining Dmen even further out of their depth and this team would absolutely stink for a few years. Not the worst thing to happen, but not the direction the front office is taking. I think once they trim the fat they'll be searching for a capable partner to pair with Parayko.
