If they can get more for Kuz that would be great. Just kind of threw that in to get off his cap hit so whatever is the best return they can get with full cap relief id take it.

I'm not huge in Kapanen either but his cap hit fits and is a cheap acquisition. Rutherford has targeted him in the past and he has worked with tocchet before and would have some familiarity with the management and couple of guys on the roster. He's unspectacular but is a reliable middle 6 guy that gives us more options.

Ya I kind of figure that will be closer to the price as well. His stock is definitely down compared to what it could have been with a stronger season. There will be a bit of an in division tax though. Maybe a 1st + Hoglander is the deal instead (though I am reluctant to give up Hoglander).

If we had to replace Kuz, maybe so. Maybe something around Kuz for Duclair + is intriguing in Shark land. Get some cap space to add Lindy lol

I think it's a decent deal, but it all hinges on Kuzmenko being moved.

I thought of that as well but Tocchet wasn't a big fan of duclair in Arizona so I'm not sure that would be a good fit.

I have no clue what the market for Kuz is. Hopefully it is higher than this but for the sake of this post it's just moving his cap out. Would be awesome to get a decent return though.

If they're smart they take the best return possible regardless of the team. Especially when it's a rental they're trading and they're not a competitive team anyways.
