The pick is conditional. Ottawa is getting the worse of the 2 picks. Cap Friendly has it set as the Detroit one by default. But it is getting pretty clear that Ottawa will receive the Boston one.

Specific Conditions Read:

*Conditions: Detroit has the option to send their own or Boston's 2024 1st round pick. In the event the Bruins' 2024 1st round selection is a top-10 pick, Boston can retain the pick and transfer their 2025 1st round pick instead. Detroit will then have the option of sending Boston's 2025 unprotected 1st or their own 2024 1st to Ottawa.

He's got flaws for sure, but he's still one of the best drivers of offense from the blueline in the entire league, and has been his whole career. Imo if there's a hangup on a Chabot trade, it's the injuries, not the cap hit. He's an 8mil Dman.

Yes, the injuries are first and foremost. But I disagree he's an 8M player. Referring back to the injuries, you definitely want an 8M player to be available for more than 50-60 games a season. He consistently leaks more chances than he drives, and his 5v5 offense is not at an 8M level. I'm sure there are teams out there who don't think he's overpaid, but probably not many.
