I could see the Hawks accepting that offer for Dickinson and then following up with the Johansen trade to fill the void for a veteran centre.

Can’t imagine anyone is giving Mrazek $4m even for one season. if they bring Wedgewood I could see them keeping Soderblom and sending him to Roackford, they would move on from Stauber before Soderblom in my opinion.

As much Blackwell has been a feel good story since his return, he is still a 4th liner who will probably signs one year deal for close to the NHL minimum.

arvidsson needs to come back before the end of the season and string together some solid performances before anyone will even consider giving him $5M.

I agree with the prior replies. Don't like the Arvidsson signing. He and Hall both going on IR leaves the top 6 decimated for a 2nd year in a row. Gotta target someone more reliable health wise. Dach isn't a C. He's a wing now. I'm hoping for a couple more moves than this, but this seems totally plausible too

So the thing is that K.D. Has gone on record saying they aren’t going after “the big ticket free agents “, but will still need to spend money to get to the cap floor. There are several ways to accomplish this but which option will he take. Obviously the more roster spots that are left open for prospects (assuming they are believed to be ready) the better the Hawks will be in the long run. So someone is getting paid handsomely. Is it/are they players on the team now who are on expiring contracts, is it players from other teams that will be free agents, is it players like Hall & Foligno that are cap casualties or is it players on bad contracts that will have picks/prospects attached to them. I don’t have the answers but can’t wait to find out.

I honestly think RyJo in CHI isn’t the worst fit. People on CF acting like a guy on pace for 20+ goals is a cap dump are crazy. The guy just is a very poor fit stylistically on the team that possibly plays the fastest in the league.

That isn't true. Again, he is benefitting from having a good shot and playing with VERY good players. But he is pretty ineffective in almost every single way, otherwise. Analytics and the eye test individually, do not tell the whole story, but together they tell me he isn't a creator, just an opportunist. Even in his most successful years, which are far behind him, it was the same story.

Regardless, if he is so good, why do COL fans want to move him after only 4 months of being with COL? We are not in the market to add aging overpaid players and do favors clearing cap space for contending teams. The whole point of having all this cap space is to capitalize on it. The idea is: We have it, and you want it, so pay up.
