Description
Just throwing this trade out there. Its very hard to value Elvis (who has looked a lot better this year compared to last year) and Campbell (who is 100% getting bought out after this season).

Based off what we are doing with Elvis currently and starting Tarasov almost every night right now, I think we are trying to make a move soon.

I know Skinner has started to play better so maybe Edmonton has no need for this trade anymore...

Merzlikins is a campbell 2.0. Posting a 906 for his entire career he just a good backup and cost 400k more than campbell. For a second holloway who will be good(great speed and a great physical, just need to work on finishing) and foegele who is a good middle 6 winger it’s not worth it. They will trade for a rental goalie at the tdl and buyout campbell for 1.5millions next year. Not doing that

If EDM is really looking for a new 1A/1B goalie, Elvis fits the bill, But Skinner might make that unnecessary unless they want a tandem this year.

If they look to make a move, I think it's simpler to just do a 1-for-1 swap and have EDM pay the difference between the two goalies, no need for Bemstrom, Foegele, or Holloway, unless they absolutely need to to make the cap work.

It probably doesn't quite cost a 1st to dump Campbell, or cost near a 1st to acquire Elvis, but the sum of both is probably about a 1st. So Elvis for Campbell and a 1st?

The scratches have more to do with his Tom Wilson fight essentially costing them the game a few weeks back. The team made it known to him they weren't fans of him falling for Wilson's bit.

I don't think its that because he started 2 of the next 3 games after that. We giving Tarasov a full work load to see if he can be the main goalie IMO and Elvis is not happy about that. Hence why he is healthy and isn't even backing up Tarasov

Good point. Got my timeline mixed up.

I dont think the fit with EDM is so much there - they would be banking on something cheaper; plus, Elvis is a step up from Campbell, but not quite the G I think they would/should be trading for.

My take? Send Elvis to LAK. They have a stout D that could make Elvis' life a lot easier (a la Korpi last year). Plus, All of the Gs in their system are on expiring contracts - two of which are UFA.

Seems to create a worse cap problem for the Oilers and also term in the exchange of apparently non performing goalies.
