Description

Re-tooling to create a more competitive & vet-run squad, getting rid of dead weight, setting up room to improve in the summer.

Don't plan to make playoffs, gain a couple prospects - cap space will go towards resigning Montour (hopefully), and adding a big, physical 3 RHD. Can flip picks/bottom 6 roster player for a 3rd line winger over the summer if needed.

I don't see how florida makes the trade. Montour is one of their best defensemen and their trade mark through he first half year was the improved defense winning them games. Only recently has Matthew Tkachuk started getting his points again.

Kubalik is a UFA who turns 29 in the off-season. LaFerriere is more than 6 years younger, under team control for several more seasons, and is on track to develop right into exactly what we want from a #3RW. No, thanks.
