Hawks pass, they have no interest in moving korchinski. Maybe they take a run at nylander in FA but theyre not moving assets for him this year.

That's not enough close for Chicago to consider, Korchinski alone is worth more than this offer

I could see that changing in the summer. They’ll have Korchinski to run PP1 and then Murphy can be their top right handed guy and give Crevier more minutes as well. Could see a cheap veteran signing to fill out the other RD spot and if an good enough offer for Jones is there it’d be smart to take it before his contract becomes a problem in his later years

Nylander is a UFA, so he's a half season rental and than a free agent. Korchinski is a blue-chip top prospect locked in for years by the team who owns him....simple.

KK is running the #1 PP and I'm fine if he stays with it and Jones goes to the #2PP. Seth Jones is still very good at hockey and while I agree his contract is a bit rich...the Hawks need to get to the cap floor. We really like him and he adds veteran leadership that the Hawks need. It's why we signed Foligno to a $4M contract and we'll likely extend him to another 1 year $4M contract. Murphy also stays and crevier will be their bottom pair RD. We don't need to do that "fill out" UFA. We're happy with our Defense. We need a TON of help at the forward position, but that'll just take time. Maybe we target Nylander as a UFA. Curious if he'd take a 2 year $13M contract. That's something the Hawks can EASILY do. Heck I'd do $14M if it's a 2 year deal.
