That's a real chance just going with Jones and Woll as the goalies.
I know Leaf fans hate their, but what's the advantage of Borgen over Timmins? Then's it's and a first and third for Eberle. Why do the Kings or any team make that trade for the current edition of Samsonov.?

So Los Angeles is going to trade a good cheap third/fourth-line RFA forward for an expensive below-average UFA goalie?

I don't think so.

LA is looking to get better goaltending not someone struggling as much as Copley at 3X the price, besides Rittich has looked good so far and LA couldn't afford this with Arvidsson coming back in Feb.

Samsonov talent is undoubtedly higher than any goalie on the LA roster. For a team that has developed Martin Jones, Johnathan Quick, Jack Campbell and Cal Peterson into starting goaltenders I’d bet he recognize his potential in LA.

You don’t watch Boegren. His most common D partner is Oleksiak on Seattle shutdown pair. He plays the toughest minutes and has positive xGF. Tell me how Timmins is better when he’s struggling in bottom pair minutes

If Toronto retains 50% on Samsonov, the Kings might consider taking him as a 3rd string goaltender in exchange for future considerations. With Copley out long term, they need a guy to replace Rittich in AHL-Ontario.

Grundstrom will cost you a 2nd round pick.

I don't foresee the Kings giving up anything of value for a struggling rental goaltender with an expensive cap hit.

The Kings might consider ****emo in exchange for a mid-round pick and Samsonov at 50% retention, although RW is their single weakest position right now with Arvidsson being on LTIR, so probably not.

Not a chance Kings consider this. As stated by the guys above me Kings would only take on Sammy if 50% was retained and virtually nothing was going back in return otherwise the Leafs could keep him and his cap hit. Doesn't matter how good "he can play" it matter how good he is playing and he isn't playing anywhere near NHL level goaltending. Forwards and defensemen can be shadowed by other if they aren't playing good however a goaltender cannot which lowers value of goaltenders so unless a goaltender is playing good at the present time no team takes risks on how good a goalie "could be".

If Samsanov can't put up above .900 numbers on a playoff team with defensively capable forwards in Toronto what makes you think he will do better in LA, Torontos 3rd string backup is outplaying their starter. As for Samsanov being better, this season and over his career he is not better than Talbot both from a cap hit and statistical point of view:

Talbot over 26 starts has a .926 SV%(Career 0.914 SV%, Career Playoffs .921 SV%) - Samsanov over 13 starts has a .878 SV% (Career: .905 SV%, Career Playoffs: .902 SV %)

Also Talbot is 3.5X cheaper than Samsanov, and playing out of his mind in LA.

You don't watch Timmins. He's been playing well after being on LTIR. Leafs have been winning with him in the lineup. Bottom pair minutes???? Over 16 minutes a game, and was playing his right side position when Liljegren when on LTIR. Brodie. Timmins and and a Marlie.
