Reinbacher for Schneider

Créé par: gm_jeanguy

Date de création initiale: 19 déc. 2023

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
The rationale goes like this: Schneider is moved at maximum value - it won't grow much playing 3rd pairing minutes for the foreseable future. Reinbacher will be NHL ready by the time Trouba's contract is due, and is about to regress. MTL might have to add to compensate the risk.

Outside perspective but are you Crazy? S girder is more NHL ready but Reinbacher clearly has higher upside! This is great for NYR future and bad for MTL’s

Hard for the rangers to deny Schneider for Reinbacher. They would have to find a good stop gap 3RD to replace Schneider

Really bad idea to doing that for Montreal. Reinbacher have a way bigger step in his defensive play than Scheinder, and Reinbacher will come to Montreal when the contract of Savard will gonna expire.

Even that, I belive that Justin Barron is a better choice and a better player than Scheinder. My opinion is that he is great, but he is very overhyped by NYR fans as their future top D.

I mean there isn’t many 22 year old defensemen that play as many games/minutes, physical like Trouba and on a cup contender like Schneider. Not to mention, defensemen usually develop in the league later than forwards

Reinbacher is maybe the best prospect on the defensive side of the defenseman, and Montreal have also one of the best (maybe the best) offensive defenseman prospect with Lane Hutson.

Put them together and we have something special.

Both teams are better off with what they have. It might be something to consider down the road, but Montreal shouldn't be buying until they are ready to compete. By then the valuations may be different. No need to take that risk at this juncture.

Yeah Habs aren’t doing that. I like Schneider but Reinbacher was the highest touted Dman from this draft class, with any luck he’ll turn into our top RHD for years to come.

What NYR fans are saying that he's a future top D? That will always be Fox. Or Miller to an extent but mainly Fox. Schneider is just being molded into "Young Trouba"

I just said Justin Barron, who is also 22, and have maybe a better offensive skill.

You said Schneider is overhyped. And yea that’s because Schneider was drafted as a defensive defenseman. They already have Fox and Miller who are good offensively

For what its worth, Bader's NHLe model dont match your perception. At this point in time, Schneider is more of a known commodity. But I agree with the overall consensus, this move doesn't fall under "potential win" category for MTL, so perhaps its not much of a good idea after all.

my guess would be the only piece reinbacher gets traded for is a prospect with elite 1C potential.

Reinbacher have a much higher hockey IQ. I love Schneider but to even entertain the idea of this trade would be madness. Reinbacher is a right handed Kaiden Guhle. They won’t put 80 points a season but they will be elite defenders with elite skating ability, with a physical edge and enough skill to jump of the rush and puts their fair share of 5 on 5 points. Thats my friend beside a franchise players is the most valuable thing to have in your team. Schneider at most will play 20 minutes. Those guy’s will get 25+ in their prime. With Hutson they would be a perfect complement. Unless Habs gets young promising forward with elite potential they aren’t moving a right Reinbacher.

This has to be a joke.

Schneider isnt remotely worth reinbacher. Its easily a 1st+ off in value

Reinbacher could have very well played in the NHL this year, and be already a good top 4 D. Pair him with Guhle this year, and I would expect sound defense with 20ish pts, which for a 19-year-old D, is solid. You'll probably say something about his NL play this year, but he is playing in one of the worst teams in the league while being stud defensively, and putting some points. I have 0 problems visualizing that at 26, he will be a legit top 25 D in the league
