If the Canes do make a goalie move, I imagine that they would have their eyes on Kuemper. That being said, it’s looking like the Canes will stand pat for the time being and just see as the season progresses before jumping the gun and potentially making an unnecessary move.

Still no reason for the Hawks to trade Reichel. This is his first full season in NHL. Doesn't make sense for a rebuilding team to trade high end prospects away while still rebuilding.

Lapierre and him are the same age, I would say still having similar production if Lap was playing regularly. You get a similar player, two pretty solid draft selections based on the rounds and Milano who would be able to help your top 6

Except Lapierre and Reichel are not viewed to be in the same stratosphere of prospects. A late 2nd and late 3rd doesn't move the needle for me.

Reichel's season up to now has been disappointing. But the Hawks are a LONG WAY from even considering moving on from him. Milano is nothing special. 30 point a year wingers are readily available every July in free agency. Lap and what are probably a very late 2nd and late 3rd are ok, but that's not enticing the Hawks to part with a prospect like Reichel. His upside is far higher than Lap's IMO.

Plug in LaPierre as the 3C. Caps aren't getting Reichel.

I think because their window hasn't yet opened and Reichel has most of the tools they've been looking for (he's not physical) and has shown success at the pro level already, there's a very little chance they'd move him yet. He was over a point per game as a 19 year old in Rockford and his production last year at the NHL level projected over a full season was on pace for 50+ points as a 20 year old.

I'd rather have quality over quantity. They already have tons of draft picks coming up.
