Sure, there’s smoke and we certainly need to figure out who wants to stay, who fits and who doesn’t, but none of those players have asked for a Trade and want out. In fact, Hanifin has a contract he’s agreed too with CGY for $7.5x8yrs=$68mil but it was put on hold. Flames are playing much better now, so it could still go either way.
I have no problem moving on if they don’t want to stick around but would prefer players & prospects who can help us now or soon rather than useless picks
Obviously we disagree on value though
Yeah and I explained them all to you as speculation the night of the stupid Milstein text, but when you hear what Zadorov had to say himself, a common sense person would see it was a negotiation tactic.
You’ve never provided anything to suggest Lindholm, Tanev or Hanifin want out and won’t extend in Calgary. Lindholm has said he’s open to it, Hanifin has a man agreeable contract on the table and Tanev should be a Professional Poker Player, cause he doesn’t show any of his cards.
Not sure if you’re just sour or you just came out of a coma and didn’t realize the Flames are rebounding…
Furthermore, we have the Best Goaltending Prospect and AHL Team in the League. Lots to be excited about in terms of guys coming up and overall depth
We just need to rid ourselves of the rats, get younger as a Forward Group, find some chemistry and guys who want to play for each other and voila, we’ll be Carolina = Very Good Team, but never gets to the Finals or Wins without a Goal being called off in CAR’s favour…. #itwasin
If Zadorov didn't want to leave, he would have said "There are no trade rumors, I want to stay," instead, when asked if he wanted out of Calgary he said, "we've been discussing it," and "I loved my time in Calgary." I don't know why you're gaslighting yourself over a bottom-pairing defenseman.
Back at the start of summer, Hanifin, Lindholm, and Backlund had all expressed they wanted to move on from Calgary. Then, at the start of the season they decided they had a "willingness to stay dependent on the season."

Tanev spoke a few weeks back about being heartbroken the former GM of the Canucks didn't even extend an offer to him and that he'd love to be in Vancouver again. Source: https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/tanev-how-canucks-lost-him-free-agency | 32 Thoughts Podcast
The fact is, your team needs a rebuild. The Flames lost their pair of star wingers and Huberdeau wasn't the reimbursement they thought he'd be. It's disappointing to hear that, I know, but coming from a Canuck fan who watched their team struggle for the better part of a decade by trying to win hockey games they had no business trying to win, that is not it chief. The Canucks did not sell off players at their peak value and embrace the rebuild, and that would be the best course of action for Calgary.
Sell the players, take on cap hits for extra picks/prospects, and try to get Huberdeau going again with no pressure to make the postseason so that you can hopefully flip him without retaining or buying him out.
