I feel like this trade depends on how good you see Holtz as. I agree that the Preds should look for more, but I doubt the Devils would be willing to offer more.

Depends, but you'd think Nashville would want the potential of 3-4 good, young players for their star goaltender

Holtz has been really really good this year (somehow Ruff hasn't noticed), so I think the Devils wouldn't trade him for a goalie. I don't think a Saros trade is necessary right now.

cory schneider got a bit less while being far more less proven than jaros, but younger.

Schneider was a very capable goalie and got significantly less than this package.

The difference, in my mind, is that Saros is a consensus top-5 goalie in the league, capable of playing 60 games. I doubt Schneider had that pedigree.
