Not sure I would want much of anything from Calgary these days, would love one more addition to top 9 and top end rhd though. That kadri deal could get rather ugly along with a tanev extension could be just as nasty or worst.

I loved the Kadri signing because I expected him to be the perfect player for Sutter. Never did I think he would lack will to compete but it’s undeniable he has lost his drive since he came to Calgary. GM Brad ruined this team.

You can likely have Kadri for cheaper when he's bought out in two years

I like your idea, but possibly different targets that could be 3/5 year plan with recent extensions, kind of a double down adventure. How have the kids in the ahl been looking? Any coming fast. Like the look of 3rd line for jets, but top 6 could use an add or some health soon.

Anyhow to the OP there's no way Calgary is retaining 2 mil/yr on that contract. Maybe in 3 or 4 years but not now.

As for top 6 help… how about getting an actual right handed right winger… like say…Konecny.

We don’t have a reason to trade him. It’s have to be a deal too good to turn down. He’s one of the few players that shouldn’t be for sale.

Not saying you are or should, just saying that’s the positional need WPG has and he would fit that need perfectly

My thought is Lindholm, he is a righty but he'll also want 9m++ vs Kadri at 5m(this is if this trades happens like this). I would love Lindholm but he'll require too much cap for a 30 year old
