Im not sure what the plan is with Kurashev when hes healthy.

On the surface i will say no its not the package Chicago is looking for.

Chicago has three young goalies, Soderblom, Commesso and Gajan. I dont see them looking for a 4th

Meyers cleared waivers Oct 2nd, Chicago could have had him for free and passed.

Really this trade comes to the 2nd and Bogosian.

Bogosian is am upgrade on the current 5/6th dspot, he brings some leadership and some toughness so i can see the value there. but D is another position where Chicago has young guys that need a chance to play.

As mentioned, a goalie prospect is pretty low on the want list for the Hawks so at a minimum you would need a different prospect than Alnefelt. Huuhtmen or Jack Thompson probably fit positions the Hawks would have more interest in but not sure enough to do this. If I am the Hawks GM, I would demand Gauthier as in addition to the million for 2 years retention you are taking some money back with Bogo and Myers. While you hope Gauthier turns into a better version of Kurashev, 18 year olds have a decent chance of never turning into even what Kurashev is...an actual NHL player.

Probably enough for kurashev but not for the retention. I dont know if this trade really makes sense for either team though. Tampa probably doesnt want to take a gamble on an inconsistent guy for their cup run and hawks probably do want to take the gamble and see what they really have with kurashev, even if it means he flames out and they end up moving him for less/nothing.

The question being "is this enough", my answer is no. I don't know what any of those players are worth, but I can tell you that if they do have positive value at all it isn't much.

CHI has had the opportunity to claim Myers on waivers FOUR separate times now and passed, and he has one year on his deal and is a pending UFA.

Bogosian is fine, but nothing special, and he is old and I can pretty much guarantee CHI is on his 21 team no trade list. If he moves he is going to want to be going after a cup this late in his career.

CHI isn't likely to have any interest in adding a goalie, and, if they were, it is unlikely that Alnefelt would interest them.

Then you want retention on Kurashev for two years.

I'm not gonna pretend Kurashev is a superstar or something, but if you want one of CHI's promising young forwards, send something that a rebuilding team might actually want. Those players MAY be worth something on the trade market, but probably aren't very interesting to CHI.

Not to mention this would be helping a team out that CHI wants to be worse, given the fact that we have TBL's 2024 1st round pick.

As a fan of both teams I would say Kurashev isn’t going to move the needle for the Bolts.
Bolts don’t have very many assets they could use for trade chips, probably better to use them elsewhere.

Cant think the Hawks do this. Veteran D isnt a big deal for the hawks right now, plenty of leadership in the locker room. Can never have enough goalie prospects, but Hawks do have 3, one at each level; NHL, AHL, and Junior. Myers is a dump. I just dont think a 2nd and a goalie prospect is enough.
