CBJ decline, there's a reason they give Gudbranson that contract ... they like him

TOR 1st + Liljegren isn't enough for Rasmus Andersson
Robertson is injured prone, isn't worth much
Brodie doesn't bring any value for CGY ...

I think it's clear as the sky is blue that the Leafs need big strong defenseman more than anything else how they get it I have no idea...I kind of think Timmins can help the team a lot I'm not sure how he gets in there also

I like Jani hockey in Dallas too that's Jani Haakanpaa so we'll see what happens with these guys this season.

Horribly low offers really, and if they're not low theres just very little there the other team wants.

Depends how badly they want to fix their defense for this year. With so many UFAs, probably desperately. Zadorov at 50% is probably Robertson and a 3rd and maybe a 4th. Tanev at 50% is a 1st and Robertson.

I'd go Tanev at 50% for 1st, and Liljegren or Timmins THEN
I'd go Hirvonen, Jarnkrot and a 4th for Walker at 50% from PHI.

gudbransson isnt worth future considerations if you could get enough teams to retain to get him for league minimum.

it's always amusing how the answer is always a "big strong defenceman" and not a good defenceman. one of those is helpul, the other is not

No 100% you are right they must be good that's probably why smaller guys get the chance because they are just much better at puckoving and skating which really is first and foremost so when the comment gets made you need to be bigger and stronger yes it includes being able to skate and be smart etc.

Benoit looks bad in my opinion I don't like how Holl played in Toronto and these guys have size and get in the way of players...I think holls size kept him around even without hitting he could've played without a stick in my opinion since he couldn't handle a puck

Big strong defenseman are way harder to go around and the make it dirty in deep and they move guys much easier and the Leafs defense you could say are very skilled but yikes they have trouble being physical and sorry but you can't play defense if you can't be physical on the body and strong enough to dig out pucks and move it up a little stick check can't effect guys like it is in toronto..

Except the issue is that you, and others, always pick big strong defenders who are bad hockey players. Them being big and strong is the only thing yall care about and not if they're good or would help the team
