Kipper is the best goalie the Flames have ever had, and Nabby was insane for the Sharks too. Definitely a good situation on both teams there

Well it was Karlsson but he’s gone so I couldn’t really think of anyone else. He’s a member of the 2014 Olympic squad and he was part of the trade that brought us Kiprusoff, so that’s why I like him slightly more than the rest.

Ekholm and Bouchard are better than Nurse imo. Nurse isn’t great defensively, and most of his points come from McDavid and Drai.

Nurse plays a lot of ice time with McDavid and Drai so of course he’s gonna score a lot of points. Same with Nuge. But Huberdeau’s drop in points was mainly because of Sutter; he was bounced around from line to line constantly and developed no chemistry with any of his linemates as a result. His confidence also dropped as a result of the Sutter coaching disasterclass, however he has since regained it and is already looking a lot better than last year. And yeah his contract isn’t great, but neither is Nurse’s. Nurse isn’t a bad player but he is only the third best defenceman in the Oilers and yet he is making more than Makar and Hughes.

Put Lindholm on the first line and have JT play center on the second line with Mikheyev and Mang on the wings. Ras should go on the first D pair over Tanev, and Wolf should be the backup rather than Vladar. Those are my nitpicks as a Flames fan, but this is a solid mashup

This is a lose-lose trade for both teams IMO. Vancouver takes on a massive contract that will likely hold their franchise back in a few years, while Calgary loses one of their top players for a bag of pucks. No disrespect to Garland and Mikheyev, they are both solid players, but Huberdeau is one year removed from a 115 point season, and is already looking like he’s bouncing back into elite form.
