Seattle is giving up a player with a far higher ceiling for a guy with a barely higher floor? Seattle needs a long term 2c and I think Wright will fit that mold far more than Pinto. I think if you added a 1st, it might convince Ron that its a safer bid to take Pinto over Wright based entirely off of their potential floors, but Seattle still declines. Can't trade a 4th overall player before he gets a season.

SEA declines. Just doesn't make sense for the team, and Wright fits the team mold better.

I agree with every comment here, aside from the fit. Pinto would 100% fit into the Kraken mold. Edit: I think currently he fits better.

I think otherwise. Nothing against Pinto, but the ceiling on Wright is higher than that of Pinto, so why would SEA give up a potential franchise player to play directly behind Berniers in Crosby/Malkin type scenario for someone who might not reach that level? Does Pinto give SEA a young 2C for the future, yes. But Wright also does the same thing, it is just a bit further away. SEA would likely rather just wait for Wright to develop another year or two and then SEA is look at Berniers, Wright, down the middle wait another year after that and SEA has Berniers, Wright, Goyette going down the lineup.

Mentality wise, theyre polar opposites. Pinto will play with force and Wright lets the game come to him a bit more. Its crazy talk but, Wright would make a better nhl offensive RD than a top 6 center.
I agree though that there is no reason for Sea to do this or cut n run on Wright so early.

Wright is also a better passer , shooter and has a much higher hockey IQ than pinto. Pinto plays with more intensity, wright is more calculated in his approach
