MTL should strongly consider
Kovacevic has been good, and while Dvorak isn’t the 2C we expected when Bergevin traded a 1st + 2nd for him, he is still a reliable 3C
I would do it personally

Montreal greatly consider. Tho we don’t want or need Beauvillier. You could replace him by a third and that is a fair trade

Overpaying a 3C makes no sense.
Adding cap in a goalie as well. No thx

Garland trade is a cap dump & rather say no.

Better to ride it out til the TDL &/or offseason.

First trade is awful for the Canucks. Dvorak isn’t better than Suter, no need to give up Beau + a 2nd for him and some depth pieces

Hmm I think that first trade is very well done.

Vancouver get a much needed back up goalie upgrade, RD depth and a centre/winger for 2 years. Montreal get a 2nd, Beauvillier (who is a UFA at years end) and an AHL depth goalie.

Like several others here, I feel the 1st trade is fair for both sides. I would only say, this trade should not happen because Dvorak is injured to start the season.

Outside of upgrading to de smith, Van gets worse here. Beauvillier and garland are much better than Dvorak and Boyd. I’ rein doesn’t really add anything and kovacevic is not a top 4 defenseman. On top of that, Van loses 2 picks.

Vancouver also probably already have a 3C in Suter, they shouldn't be seeking for one until it is proven that they still need one.

Pius Suter is a better player than Dvorak, and makes 3 mil less. Why would we go out and overpay for Dvorak?

First, Dvorak is a better player than Suter
Second, you get Kovacevic in this deal, who’s a good right shot defenseman

MTL only accept because they would flip Beauvillier later for another asset

Dvorak and Suter have similar offensive totals, but Dvorak is a complete and utter defensive liability whereas Suter actually has good defensive metrics, and is a monster on the PK. Kovacevic is also just another 3rd pair, replacement level player who the Canucks don’t need

If Kovacevic is a replacement level player than Elias Pettersson is a 2nd line Center

Wtf are even on about? Kovacevic has done nothing to suggest he is anything more than replacement level. He was playing 3rd pair minutes on a bottom 5 team....
