Again, you will never get someone as good as Nylander in a 1 for 1. There is no way you have the money to afford him. Ottawa won’t trade their elite C for a 85 pts winger who wants 10m.

That is inaccurate; the Leafs have lots of cap space next year and could easily afford Nylander. Whether his camp & Tre can come to agreement on number (aav + term) is another matter, but the Leafs absolutely have the cap space next year to extend nylander.

Except he's right this time. Total quantity over quality, this offer gets beaten by several teams.

BTW are we to take it that you assume Batherson is guilty and headed for a suspension? Are we sure they get full cap relief on that?

ok so guys, nylander is really good. he's going to be ufa next year. he wants 10M and not every team can pay him this type of money. incase he gets traded, is toronto going to get back a 90pts player? probably not. the real question is what is nylander worth. Personally 2st rounders a solid prospect and a established top 9 player is his value. some gms aren't even ready to pay this for him. stop acting like nylander is going to get the leafs huberdeau weegar a 1st a prospect. he isn't tkachuk. stop saying no to every mock trades that aren't heavily loopsided to the leafs. also was boucher a reach, yes he was, does this mean he's a bust? hell no.

for the Batherson thing. he was in the team but we don't know if he was one of the 5 guys. but his agents kept quiet and didn't deny anything so. for formenton we need to ask ourselve why ottawa didn't want to resign him and why he's playing abroad. if batherson is suspended then i guess his cap hit could be off the books since he won't be on the team.

Sign him and not having any money for any kind of depth? Good idea

Formenton doesn’t have a contract and seems to be « canceled » so you don’t need to trade him at all

Boucher is not a really good prospect, he didn’t even make our top in the pool polls. He has 3rd round pick value I’d say, same for Sokolov.

Brannstrom, 1st and 2nd is very valuable though

    Quoting: RipNasty
Explain why a win now team ahead of the Sens in the same division would trade an elite offensive player who is in the middle of his prime, for a bubble defenceman, and two prospects that never will be as good as Nylander? Then you can understand why TO passes.

Brannstrom isn’t a bubble D-man at all but agreed that Toronto shouldn’t make that trade, not only it’s a divisional rival but they need to target quality instead of quality considering they’re not rebuilding

Sens shouldn’t go after Nylander anyway. Just sign the best UFA forward you can next offseason (a bit like they did with Tarasenko but younger/better), don’t spend assets on this

Also, nothing so far says that Batherson was highly involved in the TC scandal. It hasn’t looked good for Formenton on the other hand

Leafs wouldn't do Chychrun for Nylander... Same with Norris and the other 4 would be part of the Sens core

Everyone knows you’re just a troll but if the Leafs wouldn’t trade their UFA to be winger asking for 10+ for either Chychrun or Norris, they deserve to be in the situation they’re in

Please, 1 season where Norris either played 70 games or had 60 points? Nylander's done both multiple times in the same seasons... As for Chychrun, they already have Klingberg and Rielly, why would they get get a 3rd player in that offence only mold? And Rielly's better than Chychrun so it's not like they're upgrading either

You want to say I'm a troll, but yet you don't think things through via the perspective of other teams. But don't worry, that fits the mold of other Sens fans with an inferiority complex

HaHa - can’t wait for the banner ceremony; maybe your next lottery pick can unveil the banner 😂. Point is Leafs can absolutely afford to sign Willy next year so what you wrote was inaccurate. Whether they should re-sign him is a different matter, but taking advice from habs fans is not high on any Leaf fan’s priorities

1 - Orrrr you stop acting like people aren;t making completely reasonable objections when they are. You're the one trying to pretend like you put "three 1sts in value + Brannstrom" up in there. It's an eminently beatable offer, especially coming from a rival. You're just offering everything Ottawa wants to give away anyway.

2 - I'm not sure how the cap would work, so I'd probably check before assuming. But yes, Formenton is guilty AF. That's been made plain to see.

Bro doesn’t know what rebuilding means. And yes, Toronto can resign Nylander at the cost of defence and depth. If they keep Nylander, their #2 d would be McCabe or Liljegren. That is horrible. No teams can win the cup with that d.

You really should focus on the Habs - can’t keep missing with those lottery picks or the rebuild will never end. Again, factually incorrect - Leafs have lots of cap space next year; $33M+ with 10-11 players to sign. I’m sure Tre will bring in a FA dman or two; signing nylander is a separate issue

The Leafs have 29m for next year. 10m to Nylander, 5 to Samsonov. That leave with 14m. 2,5 to Liljegren, 6,5 to Bertuzzi. 5m left to sign 2 d and 1 forward + spares. You won’t get a #2 d for less than 5m. And even the d is horrible

You are wrong (again); cap will be $87.5M next year and - as of this moment - Leafs have 12 (8 F, 3D, 1G) players signed for 24-25 season at cap hit of $54.1M leaving $33.4M to fill out roster. Plenty, don’t sweat it

Cancelled? It's a pretty safe bet that he's going to be among those facing criminal charges after this comes out. That's not getting cancelled, he's facing the consequences of his henious actions. Everyone proven to be involved should be banned from playing for life.

Is it not exactly what canceled means? And it’s actually against site rules to talk in absolutes about that so I’ll keep it in speculation. 2 years not signing a NHL contract as a RFA doesn’t look good.

He was very useful player, even lead the NHL in short handed goals in his rookie year but if he’s guilty, I don’t want to see him again

After how well he played, the fact he wasn't offered a contract is pretty damning. I think it's the same news for Comtois as well since no one wants to give him a contract apparently.

What a waste of a career for these guys, particularly Formenton… would have been a consistent 25 goals 45 points scorer and top PKer along with a good defensive game and a mean streak. I criticize Dorion a lot but to be fair, this has hurt the Sens rebuild

If they are guilty, they’ll get what they deserve
