First round draft picks always get my attention.
After carefull consideration and reflecting upon the comments above, it is doubtful that the Sabres would make this trade if Krebs was removed from the deal.
Goodrow would be a great add on, but $3,641,667 until 2026-27 would mean the Sabres would have cap difficulties being burdened with an over paid fourth line center.

Unfortunately we already have a couple overpaid 4th liners already. That 1st could be useful, chance Boston falls.

Not trading a 1st for Trouba. not that Trouba doesn't deserve that, he's just not the player we need that would warrant giving up such a valuable asset to a rebuilding team. Trouba wouldn't be our 1RD, he be a 2nd pair RD for Detroit behind Mo. A 1C (with term) is the only position I'd consider trading a 1st for.
