This is an overpay by NSH. NSH doesn't need Pesce, and while he would be an upgrade it doesn't make sense for a team doing a soft rebuild to give up this much future for a non-essential upgrade. Only way NSH takes on Pesce is if we are handing CAR a defenseman back (Fabbro or Carrier are the likely picks)

Rumor was he asked for a trade last season due to playing time and lack of opportunity. He’s unlikely to get any more this year so he’s been a throw in or a sell low trade on a lot of posts but I doubt the canes move him unless a deal really makes sense. I get he wants more opportunity but he doesn’t have any leverage and canes do like his long term potential.

Not sure why pens would just essentially swap Guentzel for TT. I think TT will bounce back in a contract year if he can stay healthy but he doesn’t have much value today at his cap hit.
