I think New York Rangers have had a great off season. They had virtually no cap and added Wheeler, Gutsafsson (who just had a good year), Bonino, Mackey and Quick. All under 800k basically. Wheeler is a big add.

They already had a good team, so adding guys of that caliber, at those cap hits, are very solid. I wouldn't be surprised if they add Kane once he is healthy on a super low cap hit deal for the year as well.

Honestly I forgot about wheeler. They should go in like, good offseason

I would be reticent to call NJD’s off-season “great” as they did lose two top-4 dmen. It was expected, so didn’t sting as much. But those are a lot of minutes to replace with rookies and Miller.

The toffoli trade and the extensions to Meier and bratt made it a great one

Personally I think LA had a bad offseason, them being the team retaining on Provorov in that 3-way trade is as laughable as their goalie tandem is.

I can see how Ottawa had a great offseason with what was handed to them, but I think I would still put them at only good offseason.

It’s funny because people are always saying they got worse because they didn’t re-sign Tarasenko, Kane (still possible), motte and Mikkola. But they weren’t with the team majority of the season

I would put Ottawa under the "mid" category.

We got less for DeBrincat than what we paid for him, we grossly overpaid Korpisalo and we need to sign Pinto with no cap space.

Other than that, it's good.

All of their adds suck. Not 1 impact player.

Yea it's not difficult to marginally upgrade on the heap of crap that was on the roster before

Ottawa, Colorado, and Columbus by no means had a great off-season.

The Sens got a bit worse by going from DeBrincat to Tarasenko. The roster outside of that is largely unchanged. At best, they crawl into the playoffs, at worst they finish 7th in the Atlantic. They're closer to the "at worst" outcome than the "at best" outcome given the strength of teams in the east.

The Avs added a bunch of mid. Wood was a bad signing (mainly due to the term) and Johansen at 2C is not a needle mover for a team that wants to push for a championship. They literally could have not made the Johansen trade and just kept Rodrigues around and also end up with more cap space.

Columbus overpaid for name value. Provorov is as mid as they come these days and they gave up a 1st for him and overpaid Severson by about 1.5M. The right side of their defense after Severson is Boqvist, Peeke, and Gudbranson. That's awful. One of those guys will have to play top 4 minutes and that just isn't going to work out well in the Metro and East. The forward group also didn't get any better (before you say they drafted Fantili, he's not going to be a world-beater yet).
