I’m pretty sure the 48 hour buy-out window for the Flyers already closed

I believe the Flyer's second buyout window has already closed. So I don't think they can buy out Murray. But maybe I'm wrong.

The first buyout window was extended (used on DeAngelo) because of Fedotov contract issue with KHL, pretty sure the flyers have a second right before camp begins

I think the second buyout window requires that the player was on your roster at the previous TDL, no?

EDIT: text from https://www.capfriendly.com/buyout-faq added below to avoid sounding speculative:
"A buyout can only be performed on a player who was on the clubs reserve list at 3:00pm on the most recent trade deadline"

I think LTIR nixes that. Murray was on LTIR, but protected, at last deadline, so he can still be bought out. but the buyout window only works within a timeframe, TOR's timeframe is today/tomorrow, after the arbitration of samsonov.

Brodie is in fact a defensive defenceman. And he's immensely superior to Lubie

He is, but it gives TOR the cap space to make it work. Its a downgrade but a preferable move than the crazy buy out Brodie rumours.

Sorry, I've confused myself now. Are you saying that PHI can buyout Murray or TOR? If you are saying TOR, I agree that he passes criteria I mentioned. If you are saying that him being on LTIR would allow PHI to buy him out, can you provide a source for that?

TOR can buy out Murray now, but only now. TOR didnt use first window, and only has 2nd one now due to samsonov arbitration. PHI had their first window moved back because of fedotov/khl issue (and used it on DeAngelo) but hasnt had their second window as yet, but could buy out murray in that 2nd window.

Saw a flyers article (nittygritty?) on them taking picks for taking and buying out a murray or someone else (forgot who....goodrow? forbort? hoffman?) at the 2nd window right before camp for them.

Honestly I have no idea what the rules are surrounding it. I hadn’t heard anything about Fedotov situation pushing back anything for the Flyers so I’m not sure.

Ok, fair enough. They can certainly take on his contract. I'm not sure how they buy him out, but once he is off the Leafs roster, that isn't the Leafs problem anymore.

A Murray buyout and 20 man roster makes way more sense.

I haven't seen anything that says the Flyer's first buyout window was moved because of Fedotov contract issue.

The first buyout window for everyone happens right after the playoffs end to the beginning of FA (June 30th is the deadline). When Cates filed for arbitration, that gave the Flyers a second buyout window. The second buyout window is 72 hours after that contract is settled, then I believe you are given 2 days for the window. Cates was signed on July 10th so the second buyout window lines up when TDA was bought out on July 14th.

Interesting....I might be wrong, but Im sure I saw that due to clarification on the fedotov contract situation and the breaking of the NHL-KHL agreement taking so much time, that the flyers weren;t on the hook for their 2nd window in its entirety. While they were given the window following Cates, Im certain that since fedotov was the only/first russian breaking the agreement, the flyers were granted the extra space. Certain I saw it, but i may be wrong
