meh, D being bad is overblown. Believe it or not the issue in the playoffs the last few years has been more depth scoring, the D has been fine for awhile now. That being said I'd like Pesce to insulate it further, especially if we could use the 1st as part of a package for a decent replacement F

I think offence from the defence has been a big problem too. Asside from Rielly we haven't had any defenceman do anything for several seasons. Klingberg could actually be a big help this year.

there is no way svech gets traded. with his contract, I'd say for anyone, but McDavid is out there. As I've said, the issue with Nylander is the contract demand. If he was making 9 mil you get this deal, but with the question of him demanding 10+ this doesnt work for the canes.

Why would the leafs do this; they downgrade the team for an overrated, pending UFA, almost 30 year old defensive dman? They already have Brodie; Willy becomes the highest scorer on a playoff team that can’t score - he’s worth way more to canes than Pesce is to leafs. Tre, thankfully, is way too experienced to make such a regrettable trade
