Just looking at the Atlantic, Tampa and Boston too high, Buffalo and Detroit and Toronto too low

They have Toronto and Tampa tied at 93,5% and Boston/Florida tied at 77.4%. You can flip those around if it makes you feel better.

While the Leafs have Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, Bertuzzi, Rielly ... and I chose 7 from Tampa so you can pick one more name out that you think I forgot. The Leafs and Lightning aren't in all that difference of situations. A core who's being paid and will carry them to a successful regular season/playoff appearance and everyone else. Tampa's is just better separated between offense/defense/goaltending.

Toronto's DCore and offensive core's objectively better but the 1 argument you would have is Vasy vs Sammy (where Sammy outplayed Vasy in the playoffs) and right now, Toronto's core players are better than Tampa's

That's a very homerish take. The Leafs Dcore isn't very strong this year and is easily worse than Tampas. The forwards aren't all that far off from each other, they are both the top 6 and everyone else, and Tampa's goaltending is better.

No it's not a homers take... don't let the cup blinders fool you, Rielly severely underrated and is at level, if not better than Hedman. Brodie is way better than Perbix, Sergachev is a little better than McCabe but Klingberg is better than Cernak, Gio is vastly better than De Haan and Lilly is better than Bogosian. the Leafs DCore is so much better than Tampa's

If last year's playoffs show any indication on how Vasy is, goaltending would go to Toronto but easy being easy pulls it into Carolina's favour

I said "If last year's playoffs was any indication" to begin with, but I had a couple typos that meant to say: but Vasy being Vasy puts it in Tampa's favour, not that Vasy is the worse goalie, just that, in the playoffs, in that series, Vasy was the 2nd best goalie

I mean it's just not worth pointing out unless you're trying to suggest that he is. It's no secret Vasy played like crap I'm that series, but there's literally 0 expectation Samsonov will be better going forward.

The only reason to mention the goalies at all like that is to sneakily try and suggest further for Toronto being better.

It's not, it's more of a concern considering he was 8-9-3 in his last 20 starts in the RS with a .906 save percentage and a 2.9 GAA also concerns me... Besides that, Vasy will still be Vasy and should be fine

It's con contradictory to say these 2 things together. It's like you wanna say Vasy fell off and isn't as good now, but.you don't have the confidence or balls to actually say it.

Because I don't believe it, I'm saying that there are concerns to his game that he should be addressing bc he struggled.

I 100% have the confidence and balls to say that a player isn't as good as advertised... I've said that about guys like: Mitch Marner, Cole Caufield, Connor McDavid, The top 6 in EDM, Pettersson, Hughes (2/3 anyway), the Tkachuks, Wilson etc.

Cool beans. Now do more than one year where everyone's bracket was shredded. And just for the record, there were two different East playoff teams and three in the West, so my jibe about them just picking 15 of the 16 as returnees being silly was quite correct.

Besides, I was comparing them to other outlets, not to run of the mill Joes. Any way you slice it's not like I always just pick my favorite team every season like half the staff there does.
