Zero chance Scheifele is traded for a rental.

Edmonton has $7.6M wrapped up in Campbell & Skinner as their goalie tandem right now. Not saying that Hellebuyck isn't better than those guys, but I can't see them spending *this* many assets on bringing Helle in and putting themselves in a spot where they now have to find a new home for one of those two guys.

Campbell needs to be coming back in a Helle deal. You forgot to sign Vilardi and Kupari. Zadina isn’t signing to be a scratch again. But would like the fit in Winnipeg. Suter isn’t signing that deal, guy is easily worth twice that. I like Scheifele for Pesce as a basis but not convinced either team does it - both likely need extensions in place and then I’m not sure who adds. I can’t imagine Barlow making the team this year, is that actually a possibility?

Canes also reject that deal. Doesn’t make sense for either team.

I think the Jets most likely extend Scheifele, but the last I heard was that Pesce was most likely going to be too expensive to extend for Carolina.

It seems like more likely to move at this point but wouldn’t say it’s for sure. Issue seems to be term - we want 4-5 years max and he wants 7-8 years.

If they move him I’d imagine it’s either to flip those assets for a replacement or a top 6 add. EK sounds like the replacement they’re going for but who knows.

He also apparently is fine playing the deal out and reevaluating next summer. He’s got a 15 team list so has a bit of control and limits our options depending on who’s on there. I personally think keeping him and moving Skjei is the smart move but I can see both sides of it.

Barlow will get the red carpet Laid out for him, best case scenario for him, is his 9 game audition, but I probably doubt even that, some preseason then get him back to junior.
