I believe you. I think the Hawks would "entertain" such a deal, given their dearth of RD currently in the pipeline and how long it takes to develop defensemen, in general.

On the other hand, what other young talented forwards can the Hawks ice now with Bedard? No one, it seems to me. This one trade alone could significantly affect how long the rebuild will take (IMO).

Oilers are the LA Angels of the NHL. The best player of a generation with ZERO to show for it.

The only teams to beat them the past 2 years were the eventual Stanley Cup Champions. And both times, the Oilers were their toughest opponent.

As much as I would hate to see Reichel go after how patient they were w/his development; getting Bouchard is very tempting. Hawks don’t have any RDs in the pipeline close to him. I see him very Seabrook-esqe . Size, strength, leadership, point production. Can’t see Oilers letting him slip through their fingers.

I concur on all points, Yeahrighttt. It'd pain me to see Reichel go, but the return with Bouchard - at RD, to boot - is compelling. He'd be a productive fixture for the Hawks for a LONG time at a critical position.
