Likley both Scheifele and Nylander will want 10m /yr contracts so this really does not solve the problem for either team. Scheifele has been a bit underpaid so he will likely play hardball on his next contract.

Confident Jets are on Nylander's 10-team no-way-Jose list. Even if they're not, pretty sure Winnipeg won't trade Scheifrle to get back a player that is also 1 year out from getting out

In a rental audition type scenario, could be rather interesting adds for Toronto of a retained scheifele and helly, basically what is needed and cap cleared in 12 months for extensions/free agency. Probably need a third team though, someone willing to offer up 80 million ish for nylander.

I hear that but looking at Winnipeg's lineup I doubt they will handcuff themselves because they have a really good team still those guys could get moved because contracts are expiring and they expressed being open to trades but retention I really doubt it depending on the return coming into winnipeg I guess.

Winnipeg is painted into a corner though, probably have to move at least one before season and possibly one at tdl or lose for nothing in off-season. Nobody coming to Winnipeg of that caliber unless over payed and that’s not a good strategy, so have to attempt to bring in stopgaps and or high ceiling prospects to keep the retool alive, over a rebuild.
