Treliving might as well have gone fishing and left his phone at home after making the RFA offers yesterday. These (big) three signings would be great compared to just filling out the lineup with Marlies.

They need something because right now all I see is Treliving doing nothing.

Don't be disappointed the Leafs didn't overpay to sign a meh player on day 1 of a FA class that's relatively poor

None of those big name guys (domi, dumba especially) come that cheap.

And Murray on LTIR just won’t happen

I think Treliving going to overpay on Bertuzzi.

But ooof watching ROR sign for just 4.5mil hurts.

And Acciari, schenn, etc… signing elsewhere.

Makes the loss of all those picks at the TDL really hurt.

I thought ROR, Acciari and schenn would be brought back, and better at 3C, 3RW and 2RD than what we have now

It's the price point - Do you honestly want Luke Schenn for 3 years at almost 2 million? Acciari played well for us but again multiple years at 2 million, ROR at 4.5 is fair buts 5.5-6.5 x 5 years to keep him in TO

In Nashville ROR can walk down the street after a bad stretch and hear nothing, in TO he has a bad shift and can't leave his house

There were a couple signings though I think we could have made. Soucy didn't get too much for instance. But we'll see, maybe some gems can still be found. Reaves was a bad signing though. He isn't worth playing

Acciari for 2mil after the year he had is fine, schenn was massively overpaid and had almost a career year but I wouldn’t have met that, ROR at 4.5mil should have been done in a second.

If Murray had been bought out, there’s more than enough for those 2 forwards. Just same old same old, bargain basement acquisitions for a two line offense.

After the price paid at the TDL? Not saying they had to rush in there but they must have known the price point for weeks and couldn’t match that for ROR or Acciari?

And your comment about Nashville? You think that’s why ROR went there? Not very ROR like.

I don't think that's why ROR chose Nashville, I know that's why he chose Nashville (I grew up 3 farms down from ROR, I know the family quite well, and the price point to keep ROR in Tao was 30 million)

Also Tre had nothing to do with the acquisition of ROR, that lies at Dubus feet, and then Dubus got all wonky on if he wanted to be gm or didn't want to be gm and here we are, it's Trelivings team now all the assets lost was Dubus

The assets lost and now the lack of picks trelicing has.

Might have been dubas’s move, but it’s trelivings problem

But your point was that ROR wouldn’t have the Toronto pressure walking down the street in Nashville.

Doesn’t matter, leafs had weeks to negotiate and find the price point with ROR and Acciari, and will be hard pressed to find better options for those amounts. And even if I take your word that ROR wanted 30 million to stay in Toronto, is maybe why they should tear it down, if even a player like ROR turn’s mercenary

For all the reasons they were acquired at substantial costs, are the same reasons they’re still needed.

There is no logical reason to "tear it down" when the team is consistently in the top 10 year over year , especially with JT money freeing up in 2 years - they have space to sign Matthews and Nylander, along with enough money left over to fill holes. They just got the first round monkey off their back so really there is no logical reason to "tear it down" that's just nonsensical fodder spewed by annoyed prefer to hate fans
