He’s getting a chance in the A. He’s not earning his way to the N. regardless of value I’m keeping the LD which is position of need for 3LD+. Not saying he’s a bust but it doesn’t look good. If I’m going to gamble on either it’s the D man which is needed. We already have Kakko and Gabe for RW. It’s not a need anymore

I have a feeling we see Goodrow in NYR come October. No trade, no buyout.

Right now Perreault is our best RW prospect and we have three excellent LhD prospects, so Jones wouldn't interest us.

I don’t see a path to keeping Goodrow AND giving miller a “good extension”. Him and Laf both get bridges if we keep Goodrow, and that’s best case scenario. (worst is losing one of them to an offer sheet)

He just turned 21 and he's one of the kids who had to go to the AHL early because of the COVID lockdowns, his development cycle is all kinds of screwed up.

He was also a 27OA pick, even if he doesn't make it, doesn't make him much of a bust. We expect San Diego to turn it around in a big way this season, see how he is doing then.

But as mentioned, RW is a huge position of need for us, LHD is not.

San Diego has been a dumpster fire the last two seasons, largely due to piss poor coaches. I wouldn't read too much into any one's stats from that team. Although with that said Jacob definitely has to show he's a better player this season or his career is never going to amount to much.

Yes, both him and Jones are still very young and D typically develop slower than F. It’s obvious that neither team does this deal based on position. Both came from a not great draft class so expectations should be humble. Maybe he becomes the next Tage in 5 years or maybe he is just another Kravs or Gauthier. Time will tell. Odds are against him and only getting worse with ANA drafting better, signing better. I hope he works out for you guys though, ANA looks awesome for 25’-32’
