What's with the debrincat stuff? We don't need forwards, and I can't imagine paying that much for him.

My theory is this, Mitts needs someone decent to play with to make him a valuable player. He didnt do much away from the first line, he needs to play with talent, not guys like Greenway/Oloffson etc. I know its a hefty pricetag but I got a 70pt a year player and didnt touch Savoie or Levi.

Sens are not looking to trade DeBrincat like this anyway... They need a roster forward at the very least

And I don't know, Rosen and Östlund don't strike me as very good prospects*

* Sticking Out Tongueoor choice of words, should have used "high end prospects"

Interesting idea
But i agree that DeBrincat would be a long shot for us

Good ideas on this post.
First trade would be a steal for the Sabres.
Take out Jokiharju on the second trade.
Probable fair value on the third trade, not sure if the Jets need Comrie.
Too much expected from Luukkonen on the fourth trade.
The Sabres should stay away from DeBrincat and his new contract on the last trade.
Management would probably believe Jokiharju is better than Dillon, Lyubushkin or Schenn so they would definitely want to take him out of the second trade.

I hear you, as far as Debrincat goes I would say enter talented player here...I just want someone that can play with Mitts!
As far as Olly I have zero clue what he is worth, does anybody know??
As far as Dillion and Schenn I just want to see some toughness if we make the playoffs, it also offers protection to Dahlin and Power.

For where they were taken?

Noah Östlund, 5'10, 163 lbs was 16th OA in a weak draft, 0.7 PPG in the HockeyAllsvenskan? Sens 3rd round pick Oskar Pettersson destroyed J20 and had the same amount of points at the WJC and I much prefer his overall game, he's also not a perimeter player

So how will sell me Östlund? Is you sole argument "you're not very knowledgeable then" because we often read that kind of crap from the average fan without ever bringing any real substance

For now, there's still the benefit of the doubt as the draft was recent but "draft position" doesn't last forever. For example, I was pissed with Tyler Boucher pick 10th OA and only 2 years later I don't see him more than worth a 3rd round pick

Rosen is now 20 y/o, a good prospect but also on the small size... 0.56 PPG in 19-20 y/o AHL season... nothing to write home about, nothing spectacular at the WJC too, far from a complete game too

So please sell me how these guys are VERY good prospects? How are they much better than Roby Jarventie and Oskar Pettersson for example?

I would also bet a good sum that both combined won't even come close to score 187 NHL goals before 25 y/o

I am 74 yo and fall down when I put on skates, but I bet I would be the leading scorer if I played against a PeeWee ice hockey team.
Östlund put up 26 pt in 37 games playing against full grown men as an 18 YO.
Your darlin' Pettersson put up THREE pts in 31 games when he played against men.
Compared against equal competlion Pettersson <<< Östlund.
Comparing AHL production of Jarventie with Rosén is at least fair and who is better is disputable.

"Your darlin" lol. I took a random player but ok I'll include another one too

First, Ostlund turned 19 y/o before the end of the season so it was mostly when he was almost 19. But they're both very close in age. I'm not sure why you're so quick to discredit junior leagues. Connor Bedard played in junior last season

Secondly, as you maybe heard before, development is not linear so Ostlund had more pedigree as he developed more at a younger age, hence why one was a 1st round pick and the other one a 3rd round pick. Not sure why I have to explain this but what matters is what happens AFTER the draft.

In their draft year, Pettersson scored 25 goals in 46 games in J20 while Ostlund scored 9 goals in 32 games in the same league. Ostlund was still taken higher because of better skating and higher end skillset

Jonathan Dahlen at the same age (but 3 months older) scored 25 goals and 44 pts in 45 games against MEN (same league where NO had 6 goals 26 pts in 37 games). He was a 2nd round pick and while he had potential he never was never a VERY good prospect

Equal competition would be the WJC for example, both had 4 pts in 7 games

I never said Pettersson was a better prospect than Ostlund, but since Oskar was a recent 3rd round pick and Noah a 1st, what makes people think Ostlund is a VERY good prospect? Sure he could take a high bump in his development but so far it didn't happen and as we have seen so many times in the past, it's not guarantied.

Maybe it's the semantics but Jarventie is a pretty good prospect, not a very good one. Very good ones would be Savoie, Levi, Greig, etc
