I think the Canes easily pass on this deal. Necas is 24 and coming off his best season with 71 points. I don't think 1 year of Toffoli and a first round warrants giving up a top line forward who would play for them for the next 7-8 years.

Canes laugh at this quite hard truthfully. Calgary doesn't have anything that would pry Necas out of Raleigh. One year of a middle-six winger on the wrong side of 30 and a late 1st aren't getting a 24 year old that's just had a major breakthrough season and is among the fastest skaters in the NHL. This is like Carolina saying they'd give a 1st and Stef Noesen for like Dustin Wolf

Honestly probably wouldn’t even do that. I like lindholm, don’t love the idea of a massive extension for him but could get onboard. Just think it would be more of a futures type package versus including guys like Necas or Jarvis.
