Assuming the cap room is there in Carolina, I can't see how they'd turn this down.

I think it makes sense for both teams actually. But I know Carolina LOVES Jarvis. So he may be a none starter. But I personally like this for both teams.

We have one slot for a 8+ million player in 24-25 and nylander isnt a 100% fit to our need so I really dont see us making this move for Nylander. If we had another large top 6 winger, we could explore this trade. Since we dont, it doesnt make much sense for us.

I just don't see the value in the trade for the Leafs. I like Jarvis but Leafs need a RHD (Lilijgren) long term more than a winger.
Despite the rumours that Carolina has a bullet proof defence, and the Leafs are horrible, the Canes allowed just 10 less goals than the Leafs last season, .....so is one year Pesce THAT important.

Don't know why TMLBrian said, "What Canada pulled on Bertuzzi". Gee, Canada just asked people to Covid vaccinated before they entered the country. Believe the US did the same thing to foreigners.
Personnally I don't know why folks are so ga ga over the often injured 53 point Bertuzzi.

In this same vain, a lot of ppl on here keep saying canes desperately need more goal scoring. While I’d love to add on there, canes score less than 20 less than the leafs last year which was good for 7th in the league.

I like Nylander but I also think giving up Jarvis and his team/cost controlled contract with his upside becomes a non starter in a deal like this. Also getting Svech back and adding another winger in the middle 6 likely bumps CAR goal scoring without having to subtract from the top 6.

Exactly the Canes and Leafs were close statisticly in many departments. But it's once the team gets an image in CapFriendly it's hard to change the notion of many.. Next 30 years, the Canes will be known as a great defensive team....the Leafs not so much. Leafs will be known as high scoring team though 10 teams are fairly close. Oh, the Coyotes need help getting to the cap floor.

Many forget that the Canes brought in Max for additional scoring and he played 5 games. Scoring wasn't so much an issue as was health.

Jarvis looks decent but he's not Nylander and never will be. Liljegren is closer to Pesce than Jarvis to Nylander and that isn't a slight against Jarvis. Pesce is just immensely overrated.

I think many miss the point that we need to add some more talent to our forward ranks, not upgrade to it. Bring in another big fish along with Jarvis, not instead of Jarvis.
