A little too complicated on the Colorado trade imo. Maybe a 1st, 3rd, and Olausson? Might get beat, but I'd start there.

If the Avs are spending big capital, I'd rather start with PLD - he's a lot younger than Lindholm. I do have a feeling Calgary is going to wait and see what happens with their new coach before they make big moves. If they are out of the hunt by the TDL, look for them to sell off pieces like Lindholm unless he re-signs before then.

Agreed on PLD. Only problem is his asking price is apparently near 9M AAV which is absurd. If he would sign around 7-7.5M then sure

Yes, $9M is high but I know players are going to be trying to recoup all the money they've lost in escrow and depressed salaries over the past 3 years plus next season, especially as the cap goes up. I think we can expect to see players getting more as the cap rises. Anywhere from $7-8M feels about right for PLD.

PLD is preferrable from an age and on-ice perspective, but who knows if it's even realistic. Let's be honest, even though Colorado looks to be a perennial contender, they aren't atop the wish list of destinations for a lot of players. He may not be inclined to sign with the Avs. But even if he is, it will be tough to beat the offers from Montreal, Carolina, etc. I'd like to believe it could happen, but I don't. And that makes Lindholm the next best thing.

Also, Lindholm will make less next year and going forward than PLD. Maybe that allows for the team to keep other important pieces.

I agree PLD probably won't happen and Lindholm is a perfectly good 2C option if Calgary would trade him to an intra-conference opponent
