I've seen a lot of trades involving Raddysh. I realize he had a 20 goal season last year and is one of the couple of valuable trade chips Davidson has. I hope that doesn't happen and think he could be a building block on this team going forward. I would like to see Raddysh signed next year for about 4-5 years at a reasonable hit. Sooner or later Davidson has to hold on to his young talent rather than trading them away for more draft picks.

Agreed. But, he did recently turn 25 years old. If they don't see him as part of the future because of the rebuild timeline, then we should move him sooner rather than later. So, if they are going to do it, they should do it between now and the 2024 TDL. It is good hypothesize about what it might look like if they make the choice to move him.

Especially now with all the cap constraints across the NHL.

For sure. A 20 goal scorer at a less than league minimum cap hit, is a valuable commodity. Even if he is pending RFA.

I'd say especially because he's a pending RFA. That's more control than a UFA.

Sure. Just saying he'd be even more valuable if he had more than a year left.

That's a lot of money you're paying Petry to play bottom pairing minutes.

Too much for Dumba

If I can get a late first value out of TRad....I am all in on the rebuild. Hawks are at the least 2 full years out which means TRad will have hit UFA and need to be paid. At 750K and a RFA year, he has WAY more value to actual contenders then the Hawks. The problem with contemplating keeping TRad is he will rack up points playing top 6, getting PP, maybe some time with Bedard and want to get paid based on that. On a good/playoff team, he is a depth scoring 3rd liner and NOT a top 6.

As to this TRad trade...obviously the #14OA is way to much 1st rounder for TRad, But Granlund is of no interest unless he has a fairly high 2nd attached to him. This proposal gets pretty close to that value, so I would do this as a Hawks fan. Problem is this would leave the Pens with only 2 3rd round picks in the 1st 4 rounds. I think TRad is more valuable to several other teams that are in a tighter cap situation and working something around #14 Granlund for the Hawk 2nd, Tampa 2nd, & the Hawk 3rd (which would give Granlund the value of costing a 2nd rounder in the 40's to dump him). I would then peddle TRad to the highest bidder among cap strapped teams like CAL, VAN, MIN, VGK, Bos, Edm and the one that wants to pay the highest 1st rounder valuation gets him.

I guess I see Raddysh as the 2020's version of Patrick Sharp. He could be the veteran top 6 presence to play along side of Bedard, Nazar, Hayes and whoever else they draft this year and next. But I understand the other arguments you and the others are saying about trading him.

For sure, again, I agree with you. I like him, and would love to keep him around. But I'm not sure the timeline and vision lines up with that, it all depends on what CHI's front office is thinking. If this rebuild does take another 5 years, he could realistically be on the wrong side of 30 by the time CHI is anywhere near the playoffs again. So, do they sell high now to help the rebuild and then get someone further down the road to play the "Patrick Sharp" role? It's an option and depends on factors that none of us could possibly know without working right along side Kyle Davidson.

I just think with such a low buyout cost it's more beneficial to the team to buy him out unless the cost to trade him is like a 3rd round pick or lower.

But the real issue here for me is that Dumba signing.
