Way too much to pay for Liljegren. I would pay a 3rd and a 5th but not 36 overall in this draft. No thanks.

Anaheim isn’t trading a single one of those pieces let alone all three

If we want a shot at AM, we will do it when he is a free agent but nice try

Still a huge F*cking no from Anaheim.

None of the young core or 2OA are available for any of Toronto's core 4.

You guys are going to be severely disappointed in the return for Mathews if you keep thinking this is the return lol

Why do you think this. Just curious? Because the cap will go up significantly in the next years. Again jw.

Yup, three things we won't be trading: McTavish, Drysdale or our 2023 first. We worked too hard for too long for all of them. It would be particularly stupid to trade both of the only two people who would be the only good possibilities as Matthews' LW.

I don't know that it's way too much. Maybe a little much. This draft drops off big after the top 4 with the exception of maybe a couple of reach players in the 5-10 range.

He fits the timeline imo. Interesting trade tbh. He accelerates the rebuild.

If you can acquire a franchise player with an extension, you do it.

I am unsure why Toronto fans keep spamming their two big stars to rebuilding Pacific teams as if rushing a rebuild was ever really fruitful.

The method is have 5-7 really painful seasons, collect as many high picks as possible, develop those picks and then turn around and sell them off immediately for a 26 year old superstar who is due a new record breaking contract which then cripples your teams ability to add quality players around him and then you just end up like the Edmonton Oilers with basically zero depth and early playoff exits….

Sorry that was longwinded.

Not at the expense of three massive pieces of your team and especially not when you’re still rebuilding

Because Toronto fans think there are no consequences to their team continuously botching contract negotiations, walking their stars to free agency, and sticking 50% of their cap space for a 23 man roster on 4 guys, then pissing away the best hockey said 4 players will play.

They also think Toronto should win the cup every year, that players should take huge home town discounts to sign with them because they should be so lucky as to join the greatest hockey team in the world, and that Gary Bettman is out to get them, specifically.

But why give up valuable assets when you can take a swing to acquire that franchise player during free agency.
