Tre Leaf in the process

Description
Reason for the signings

Schenn - Treliving stated in the conference that he was familiar with Schenn in passing and he fits the Treliving style of having a hard-hitting 3rd defensive pair also Schenn showed a willingness to return to Toronto.

Acciari - Same as Schenn but he seems like a character guy that Treliving would value and from what I read Treliving really loves his character guys

Eller - Extremely excellent skater who can play in all facets of the game. Has a lot of cup experience with him as well and knows what it takes to win. Won't get you a ton of points but his other assets are enough to make him an important piece on any team

Rodrigues - Another excellent skater in his own right. Somewhat of a Swiss army knife in that he can play anywhere in the lineup if called upon. Can be also good for secondary scoring help in the middle six and is an excellent PK player.

Donskoi - Explosive skater coming off of an injury-riddled season in which he did not play so he is very much a candidate to have a bounce-back campaign. He isn't the best finisher but can put up a solid 30+ pts in a season I believe in the right circumstances he can score maybe 40+. Donskoi also has cup-winning experience with Colorado and is a good two-way player with great forechecking ability.

Compher - Had a career year in Colorado this past season and was properly developing into a 2C that replaced Kadri the year prior scoring just over 50pts. Versatile and can play in any situation, unlike JT or Matthews. JT transitions toward the wing to make up for his failing speed but his forechecking and puck-battling ability is still underrated in the league. Compher can also become a quicker 1C PK option along with Marner as compared to O Reilly if we had kept him which I don't believe we would. Compher like Eller and Donskoi have Cup Winning experience but haven't aged out and still have relatively a long time left in the league. Playing with JT and Nylander, Compher can easily score 60+ pts alongside the two

Mikkola - Might be the Leafs most underrated signing if this works. Standing at 6'5" and weighing 210lbs Mikkola was a traded asset in the Tarasenko trade last season and found form while he was on the Rangers playing alongside Adam Fox. An excellent shutdown D who totaled 106 blocks and 156 hits last season between both St Louis and New York. In the past few seasons he has suffered from consistency issues but being only 27 yrs old, Mikkola has a lot of time and room for improvement in the future to become one of the league's best when it comes to defensive and physical play. I can see Mikkola turning into another Gavrikov-like player and fitting the type of style I can see Treliving turning this team into and playing with a defensively responsible Schenn could bode well in Mikkola's favor.

Other Notes: Leafs hire Bruce Boudreau as an assistant HC to run the PP and Offense.
Leafs use the pick they got from Washington in order to draft a defenseman to replace Niemela #28 ( Boston ) Oliver Bonk from the London Knights is projected to go #28 RHD 6'1 178Lbs 18 yrs old and the son of Senators legend Radek Bonk

again this team build is for fun! Feel free to absolutely annihilate me in the comments lol or comments your thoughts

Détails additionnels:
Nearly the Same Compensation as an offer sheet signed at 4.5Mil+ per season AAV. Kings need a permanent solution in the net and I think the Leafs are going to try and aim higher when it comes to their goaltending
LAK
  1. Samsonov, Ilya [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
I feel like Treliving is going to bring in one of his guys to mind the crease as the 1A and there are a lot of teams that are going to be trading away goalies either because they can't afford to resign them or they are in a cap crunch.

TOR
  1. Ellis, Ryan
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2024 (FLA)
Détails additionnels:
So some intangibles need to happen for this to work. Ellis is unlikely to play another NHL game again so at this point he is another dead cap contract that Philadelphia would likely want to get rid of. Both Provorov and Hart are traded to other teams for picks and prospects and are replaced with an expiring Brodie contract to at least shore up the Flyers defensive game after Provorov is gone and Murray to fill in the Hart gap alongside Ersson who seems like a good goalie to get some NHL reps and experience next season. Leafs are given a 1st rounder for taking on the Ellis contract for an extended period of time.
PHI
  1. Brodie, TJ
  2. Murray, Matt
Détails additionnels:
This is purely an LTIR / Cap for a bigger acquisition in the same offseason

TOR
  1. Swayman, Jeremy [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
It's been confirmed by insiders that the Bruins are making Swayman available for a trade due to them not being able to afford him. Bruins likely bring back a veteran goalie like Halak on a league min contract to run in tandem with Ullmark. This trade either turns into an absolute win for Boston where this turns into another Raycroft-like trade or this trade turns into the reverse Rask trade where Swayman turns into a True Elite #1 and terrorizes Boston and the Atlantic division for years to come. I'm hopeful for the latter also Boston lacks draft capital to revitalize their depleted farm system so this helps in both ways
BOS

  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2024 (NYI)
  3. Choix de 5e ronde en 2024 (TOR)
Détails additionnels:
Leafs might want a possible guarantee in the net and why not go with a goalie who might turn into the next Hellebucyk to run tandem with Woll? Both are 24 yrs old so internal competition will be had between the two it also forces the Leafs to finally use a tandem system
4.
TOR
  1. Dobson, Noah
Détails additionnels:
Absolute Rock on defense, is surprisingly agile for his size, and has an offensive edge. Scored 50+ pts from the blue line and has a lot of playoff experience at such a young age at 23 yrs old. Can only get better with time. I don't see Lou giving him up at all. This is a wish list item for me and maybe the Islanders start to move towards a more offensive style of game and might make acquisitions based on that fact but if there was an opportunity for the Leafs to get younger on D but already have NHL-ready guys to make the jump then I'd say take the chance.

The isles are not trading Dobson and that package does not touch his value.

I think u put the 1st on the wrong side of the trade. To take Murray it will cost a 1st lol. Flyers don’t have interest in Brodie or Murray so they aren’t paying for either

The isles trade is bad but it’s not even the worst one here. Please explain to me why anyone in their right mind from Philly would move a 1st for a cap dump and an expensive contract they don’t want or need.

I mean the Flyers give up a 1st rounder to dump a guy who is going to be on LTIR for the rest of his career? I don't get it

Your imagination is running over time is overtime if you think the Flyers have any reason to give up a first for a rental and a bad cap goalie. Ellis really means nothing in a trade. I can't see Swayman signing that contract for four years. Gee he could offer sheeted at 4.3m which cost a second rounder.

Lol, confirmed huh?

They will try to do everything they can to keep Swayman. Which means they will try like hell to move Ullmark first. If his NTC gets in the way of that or limits the return then they would look to move Swayman…as a last resort.

Not waiting 2 years for the picks either.

How would trading a ltir contract with a 1st for an older guy and Matt Murray's deal help? You're gonna have to give a 1st to toss Murray, and he sure as hell not agreeing to go to Philly with that MNTC of his.

"It's been confirmed by insiders that the Bruins are making Swayman available for a trade due to them not being able to afford him."

1) This is horse**** on two counts. 1st, IF the Bruins were going to move a goalie, it would be Ullmark. 2nd, the Bruins can cover an offersheet on Swayman and run a 22 man roster up to 5 million just by moving Grzelcyk in a trade and buying out Reilly/Forbort. The latter they are going to do regardless.
2) Even if they were going to move Swayman. There is no chance he is going to Toronto, lol.
